Preparing for First Neural Bits Course?
I need your feedback! Done with theory? Let's get practical!
Hey all,
2 updates for today.
First, I want to thank you for subscribing to Neural Bits. The newsletter has grown rapidly and steadily, and I’m grateful for being able to share my thoughts, deep dives, and practical advice with 2500+ of you.
The AI/ML Engineering field is surrounded by a ton of noise, and if there’s one thing I don’t necessarily like about it, it’s the inflated promises and quick selling points that many advocate for to ride the current wave. For instance, I’ve seen time and time again, people on LinkedIn and Substack or Medium, with little grounded experience in the field advocating for “vibe coding”, “programming is dead”, “rag is dead”, tools, frameworks, and concepts that won’t help you get into the industry.
I see this as similar to the Fear & Greed Index of the Stock Market.
CNN's Fear & Greed Index is a way to gauge stock market movements and whether stocks are fairly priced.
When everyone is advocating for something, it’s best to stay aside and analyze what’s happening rather than joining the FOMO (fear of missing out) trend.
Following up on that, I’ve tried to stay close to fundamentals and mainly covered tools, frameworks, and getting deep down to the details that an AI/ML Engineer in the industry might find useful.
I figured out those might be too theoretical and niche, and I thought about switching gears a bit and coming up with a full hands-on project.
What’s Next
I’ve been promoting this newsletter as a resource where I share insights on helping you become and grow as an AI/ML Engineer.
I think you’ve clicked the subscribe button because of that selling point.
Since I’ve started this newsletter, I’ve shared a few short tutorials, but haven’t showcased yet an end-to-end solution that’ll give a full overview of what an AI System is or how to build one from the ground up.
The purpose of these polls is to help me decide better on the course complexity, what modules I should focus on, and how to explain them.
It’ll take you around 1min to complete. Thanks in advance ;)
High-Level Plan
I have a few ideas and sketches already made, but find it difficult to decide on the length, complexity, domain, and format - and I’d love your feedback.
Let’s start!
That’s it! Thank you for your feedback!
If you’d like to add to this current list, please leave your ideas in the comments. I’ll read and pay attention to all of them.
Last note, if you’re not subscribed, make sure to do so to stay updated on this topic.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Alex.
